The Ancient Practice of Yoga Nidra
Join Nhi in her new Deep Rest Yoga Nidra with Solfeggio Frequencies Series
Namaste dear one,
Have you ever experience the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra before?
Yoga Nidra, also known as Yogic Sleep and Effortless Relaxation, is a practice with ancient roots, originating from the ancient Indian tradition of yoga. It can be traced back to the ancient texts and teachings of yoga, such as the Upanishads and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali around the time of 800 BCE to 200 BCE.
Yoga Nidra is the ultimate relaxation technique for releasing stress and tension held in your body through a state of conscious Deep Sleep. By systemically bringing your awareness inwards and away from outer experiences, you can fall into an innate state of deep blissful awareness, reconnect with your emotions and body, dispel fatigue or discomfort and promote your body’s natural healing capacities.
What happens when you drop into a space of total deep relaxation? It empowers you to attain your full potential as a person. Our body is incredible. But the thing is - in this modern day age, we are so wired in the Doing, in the hustling and always trying to achieve more and more. How often do we create the space and allow ourselves to drop into a place of deep rest? To just BE without any agenda?
When we REST, our cells can rejuvenate. Whether you practice Yoga Nidra as part of your siesta (nap) or bedtime routine, you will feel readily available to take on whatever responsibilities you have in your life.
Sleep gives the physical body that much needed rest, but in terms of mental or emotional rest, normal sleep is oftentimes simply insufficient. This is why in my new course Deep Rest Yoga Nidra with Solfeggio Frequencies & Affirmations , I will guide you through 45mins of Deep Rest accompanied by powerful Solfeggio Frequencies, empowering Affirmations and a contemplative practice to allow you to work through not just the physical aspect, but also the mental and emotional.
The central nervous system (CNS) plays a crucial role in regulating rest and sleep ensuring the appropriate balance between wakefulness and sleep states for optimal functioning and well-being. It consists of the brain and spinal cord, which are responsible for receiving, processing, and transmitting information throughout the body.
Yoga Nidra is designed to induce the relaxation response, a state of deep relaxation where the parasympathetic nervous system predominates. This activation of the parasympathetic system leads to a reduction in stress hormones, such as cortisol, and promotes a state of calmness and rest. The CNS, being the control center for the autonomic nervous system, is involved in regulating this relaxation response.
By incorporating this powerful ancient practice into your life, you will be able to bring about a greater sense of restoration and mental willpower in order to feel healthy and happy, recharged, rejuvenated and positively shifted!
I welcome you to join my Deep Rest Yoga Nidra Series
This course is for you if you wish to dissolve stress and anxiety, experience deeper relaxation, renew and refresh yourself at any time of the day, gain deeper understanding about yourself through stillness and contemplation, experience the magic of interconnectedness, break free from internal struggles and cultivate greater awareness of your emotions, mind and body.
Each journey is approximately 45 minutes that will involve focusing on a particular topic accompanied by a specific sound frequency and affirmations. There will be a gentle breathing practice transitioning you into a Yoga Nidra journey that involves setting your Sankalpa which is your intention setting, scanning and focusing specific parts of your body, engaging sense perception, exploring dualities, creative visualization and finally a positive empowering affirmation practice. This process ultimately allows you to become aware of and be a witness of any suppressed or repressed emotions, and the affirmation practice aims to reprogram and rewire your subconscious mind, and to heal the physical and emotional body.
Yoga Nidra can be done at anytime of the day but especially at night where you can drift off to sleep.
